In 1859, a man who had returned safely from the Crimean War began construction of the Crimean Hotel.
In 1964, the hotel was taken over by the Giacomelli family, who began the complete renovation of the building in 1981.
In 2005, the bar, restaurant, and rooms were renovated. In the same year a new, young, and dynamic management brilliantly directed by Giulia and Mattia Giacomelli began.

On the ground floor, you will find the bar, a reading lounge, and the reception.
he Restaurant with a view of Pratogiano Park can accommodate up to 150 persons.
Adjoining the Restaurant is the Crotto, where you can taste local and non-local dishes, cheeses, cold cuts, and wines.
The hotel is centrally located, adjacent to the railway station, in the area of Chiavenna's famous 'Crotti'.
It has 27 cozy and comfortable rooms, all with private bathrooms and TV, and many with a balcony and view of Pratogiano Park.
Chef Mattia Giacomelli, who has worked in some of the best restaurants in the world, will present his vision of typical Valchiavenna cuisine by enhancing local products.
In fact, 'Il Locale' (this is the name of the restaurant) supports the ecosystem of local producers, guaranteeing an authentic 'zero-kilometer' gastronomic experience.
